In plain words

The GDPR is the European Union's data protection law. Little Lobos Academy is currently a private, single-family deployment in the United States, and we do not market to or serve families in the EU today.

This page is a framework for the future: it explains what the GDPR covers and how our existing practices map to its principles, so that if we ever support EU families, the groundwork is visible.

We do not claim GDPR compliance.

What the GDPR generally requires

The GDPR asks organizations to have a lawful basis for processing personal data, to collect only what is needed, to keep it only as long as needed, and to protect it appropriately.

It also gives people rights: access, correction, deletion, portability, and objection to certain processing. This is a plain-language summary, not legal advice.

How our practices already align in spirit

Data minimization: we collect a parent email, student first names, learning progress, uploads, and cached narration — and nothing beyond what the platform needs.

Purpose limitation: data is used to run the platform for your family. No ads, no selling, no third-party ad trackers.

Security: encrypted HTTPS connections and row-level access controls in the database.

Children's data under the GDPR

The GDPR treats children's data with special care and expects parental involvement for young children. Our model is built around exactly that: parents create and control everything, and children use the platform only under parent supervision.

What formal support would requirepending legal review

Before serving EU families, we would need counsel to establish lawful bases for each processing activity, formal rights-request procedures, international data transfer safeguards, and any required representatives or records of processing.

None of that machinery exists yet, which is why we do not claim GDPR compliance today.
